Selected candidates need to undertake assessments/care planning in the older people’s generic team. They must demonstrate:
Working Knowledge of Issues Relating to the Needs of People with Vulnerable Adults and the Mental Health Act 1983, Children's Act
Communication skills and ability to provide correct information
Appreciation of equal opportunities policy
Team work skills and a systematic approach to the work
Commitment to the needs led approach, the maintenance of maximum independence and offering real choice
Ability to arrange, monitor and evaluate care packages
Skills to undertake needs assessment of service users and their families/careers and other professionals
Ability to work with a wide variety of other professions and care providers
Working knowledge of the NHS and the Community Care Act 1990 and other relevant legislation
Knowledge of professional code of practice and social work processes and models
